Rebecka Friessen is the “HR Department of One” for Corner Store in small town Seminole, Texas. She does everything from onboarding new employees, implementing policies, coordinating benefits and building up her leadership team. She has also worked closely with Corner Store’s foodservice team marketing food items, having conversations involving new and creative ideas to increase food sales revenue and drive more traffic, and making sure they are a safe work environment and compliant in all areas. Corner Store has four locations — three in Seminole, Texas, and its newest location in Denver City, Texas. Friessen was in finance for five years prior to starting her career in HR.
